Red Light is basically small LED lights emitting red light from a machine or a device. Different lights are measured by their wavelengths in nanometers (NM). Red Light wavelength is around 600-700nm, which can penetrate through skin, soft tissue & muscle. Near Infrared Light (NIR) is similar to Red Light, except NIR light energy is invisible and reaches deeper into the body due to its wavelength of 700-900nm. This will enable it to penetrate through skin, soft tissue, muscle, joints and even bone.

Red Light & NIR Light reaches the cells in our body and increases mitochondria, which are the power cells that fuel our energy in the form of ATP. Basically, the more mitochondria we have, the more ATP we produce, the more energy we have at our disposal. Red Light exposure in our body works in a similar way sunlight produces solar energy and photosynthesis for plants.
